As part of our local audit work across the NHS in Wales the Wales Audit Office will, over the next three months, be completing a ‘Structured Assessment’ exercise at each of the Health Boards and NHS trusts in Wales. The purpose of this exercise is to consider whether NHS bodies have the necessary arrangements to ensure that their resources are used efficiently, effectively and economically, and in a way which results in sustainable service improvements. This work will comprise an extensive document review, supported by interviews with the Health Board’s senior management team, non-executive board members, and other staff responsible for those arrangements that are the focus of this review. Fieldwork arrangements are currently being planned and will be rolled out between mid August and mid October 2010. Further information is provided in the attached briefing document. |
