The Delivery and Support Unit commenced an intervention into the Cwm Taf NHS Trust on the 25th June 2008 reviewing the working practices of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for Bridgend. The intervention was deemed necessary as a consequence of the Trust breaching SAFF Target 13 ‘All CAMHS patients to be seen within 26 weeks for routine assessment and intervention’ in April and May 2008. The CAMHS service reported that the breaches occurred as a consequence of the increase in demands for CAMHS following a number of high profile suicides in the Bridgend area. |
