The Hospital Patient Environment (HPE) is commissioned by the Minister for Health and Social Services on an annual basis from mid September through to the end of October. Five assessment areas are rated and these areas include, external, entrances and reception areas, common areas, ward areas and departments. East assessment area has specific criterion guidance with rating not applicable, poor, fair and excellent. The HPE programme is undertaken in all district general hospitals across Wales and community or minor acute site per welsh NHS Trust. CHC members undertake the assessments and all the data is recorded Patient Environment Assessment Reporting system (PEARS). All the data is collated, analyed and an annual report published and distributed. |
