The Review follows upon the death of a patient - a person experiencing learning difficulties who was administered penicillin although it had been reported that he was allergic to that drug. HIW is not investigating that case but the Review has been established to ensure that the Trust has taken appropriate steps to ensure that similar incidents do not recur in future.
It is anticipated that the Review will be completed and reported upon by Autumn 2008.
