Signatories
The Wales Health and Social Care Concordat is a voluntary agreement that builds on the collaboration which already exists between the inspecting, regulating and auditing bodies in Wales. It provides very clear opportunities for these bodies to continue to work together in a positive way to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their services, and to remove any unnecessary burdens associated with visits, collection of data and follow up.
There are 2 types of signatories:
Full Signatories
Full signatories are those organisations that have direct responsibility for regulation, audit or inspection of health and social care services in Wales.
Associate Signatories
Associate signatories are those organisations that may not directly undertake inspection, regulation or audit of health and social care in Wales but whose work is closely associated with the principles and objectives of the Concordat.
Applying to become a signatory
Organisations that inspect, regulate or audit health and social care in Wales or whose work is closely associated with the principles and objectives of the Concordat can submit a request to become a signatory to the Concordat. Organisations that request to become a full signatory are required to submit a business case and those that request to become an associate signatory are required to submit a statement of support for the Concordat and its principles.
All requests will be considered by the Concordat Steering Group (present signatories).
