Targeting Inspection through a Risk-Based Approach

Work has been on-going to develop an integrated risk assessment framework that was piloted in the Healthcare Summits that were held in July 2008. The summits involved the main regulatory bodies of health and social care as well as support and development bodies, such as NLIAH and the Clinical Governance Support and Development Unit. The Healthcare Summit approach will evolve to facilitate the identification of joint review opportunities and joint planning arrangements.
